E8F and E8V Lid Switch Repair Instructions - SNR-7.5.1-W-017

Purpose

This work instruction describes the process for repairing the Lid Switch of the E8 Fixed and the E8 Variable centrifuges. These instructions are valid for Revision K of both centrifuge models.

 

Required Equipment

  • Lid Safety Switch (Part # 101281)
  • Lid Switch Bracket (Part # 101282-B)
  • RHBS; 18-8; No. 2; ½” Long; Self Tapping (Part # 101363)
  • #4 x 0.25” Thread Rolling Screw (Part # 100088)
  • #1 Philips Screw Driver
  • Magnetic Bit Extension; 6”
  • 10mm socket

Summary of Process

The procedure involves removing the centrifuge's rotor and base/motor assembly to gain access to the lid switch assembly. The existing lid switch is then removed and a new one is installed. Finally, the unit is reassembled and all functionalities are verified under normal laboratory conditions.
